Notemaking Mastery
22 Days to Transform From Collector to Connector
What is Notemaking Mastery?
Notemaking Mastery
Sound familiar?
Do you feel lost in your notes?
If you've over-collected, it's like taking all the noise of the internet into your bedroom. Learn how to turn the mess into magic.
Does your brain feel broken?
Bad habits of consuming and collecting turn the brain into a mush of passive nothingness. The trick is learning the one-word habit that turns consumers into creators.
Are you collecting ideas but don't know how to connect them?
We over-collect because we have a fearful relationship with information. The key is to connect ideas, which turns fear into joy, and joy into meaning, and meaning into value.
Does it feel like your ideas don't ever go anywhere?
You have the capability. The problem is you just weren't given the playbook for turning ideas into insights—and impact.
The problem with notetaking
It's not that duplicating words we find on the internet is inherently bad. If anything, it's inherently good. So what's my beef? We think it's the solution to the info pain we feel, but eventually, makes the pain worse. It goes like this:
Consume » consume » PAIN » collect. Consume » consume » PAIN » collect.
That becomes the habit. It's a dangerous habit. Because it leaves out the most important part of the process: the generating! It leaves out your voice and your ability to connect disparate ideas and develop something that is greater than the sum of its parts.
So eventually, all that collecting becomes the pain. That's because you've basically created a smaller version of the internet with all the noise of the internet drowning out your own thoughts. It becomes this:
Consume » PAIN » collect » PAIN » consume » PAIN » collect » PAIN.
The collecting habit creates a worsening spiral of informational pain.
How would that make an impact in your life?
So what's the solution?
That's the promise of my new cohort-course Notemaking Mastery.
It's a onetime 22-day experience, never to be ran again.
It starts Friday, Nov. 1st, 2024.
But first, allow me to introduce myself...
Hi, I'm Nick Milo.
I’ve spent the last 17+ years using digital notes to create and grow a fitness boxing into an international company, produce two independent feature films, become a TV and film editor, and—perhaps most importantly—to calm my thoughts and make better sense of the world around me.
I’ve tested and stretched the limits of linked notes in the "real world" from:
- the fitness industry 🏃 to the film industry 🎬
- the football field 🏈 to civil engineering 🏗
- strength training 🏋️ to the boxing ring 🥊
- public speaking 🎤 to content creation 🎨
What I’ve learned is this: Being effective at managing knowledge is a superpower—and linking your thinking supercharges it.
The frameworks I teach can unlock your ability to work with ideas in a way that is fast, flexible, and future-proof. I’ve taught thousands of people with great results. That's because these principles are flexible enough for you to shape to your personal needs—no matter what you want to do.

Notemaking Mastery in a nutshell...
Who's it for?
If you've ever felt like you're collecting ideas but not connecting them, this course is for you.
What will I learn?
You’ll learn how to stop spinning your wheels and start making real progress—whether it's for your day-to-day thinking, that big effort, or a creative endeavor.
In this course, you will:
- Turn your scattered notes into connected insights: Learn how to use linked notes to organize your thoughts and create meaningful connections that drive your thinking forward.
- Develop a sustainable notemaking habit: Master a structured process that empowers you to continuously engage with information, rather than just collecting it.
- Improve how you generate ideas: You’ll learn practical techniques to refine your thinking and ask better questions, helping you move from passive consumption to active creation.
- Experience a proven system for notemaking: Build confidence in your ability to take notes that aren’t just a record but a tool for deeper understanding, growth, and creativity.
What is included?
1. Step-by-step LIVE sessions: Live sessions every Friday. Think of them as four mini-bootcamps that show you exactly how to transform scattered information into organized, meaningful notes that spark new ideas. (Yes, they'll be recorded.)
2. Day-by-day lessons: Each lesson is packed with prompts and exercises that you can apply immediately, ensuring you’re not just learning—you’re doing.
3. Real-time feedback and live Q&A: Join live training sessions with Nick where you’ll get personalized feedback, answers to your pressing questions, and opportunities to refine your approach with Nick's personal guidance.

What you will experience
Stop notetaking. Start notemaking.
If you're reading this, you know you should be consuming less and creating more. But instead, you're stuck making more highlights instead of developing your own insights. And with each new highlight, you feel a dull ache of guilt because deep down you know what it really is: avoidance.
We both know why you’ve been putting it off. It’s a mix of informational FOMO, the fear of not having anything worth saying, and the fear of what others might think.
Luckily, Notemaking Mastery will get you to the other side. From notetaker to notemaker. From consumer to creator. And once you cross the threshold, you'll wonder what took you so long.

If you need guidance, please feel free to email us at hello@linkingyourthinking.com.
You can also use this proposal template.
We don't touch folders. We don't set up a full thinking system for you (see the LYT Workshop for that).
We don't deep dive into the technicals of specific tools like Obsidian (that's where you want Obsidian Flight School).
The most popular choice is Obsidian, but other tools like Roam, Logseq, Tana, or even Evernote and Notion can work. You just need a tool that allows for link-based notes can work.
Now as far as the Notemaking Mastery Course, all the examples are shown in Obsidian, and the fancy advanced features are not needed. I'll talk about some cool hotkeys from time to time, but the focus is squarely on how we can work with link-based notes. These are timeless fundamentals no matter the software.
Let’s use the ARC Framework (Add, Relate, Communicate) to compare each. The LYT Workshop covers all three—Adding, Relating, and Communicating ideas—with a strong focus on Adding and Relating.
Notemaking Mastery, on the other hand, zooms in on the process of Adding and Relating ideas, helping you master the skill of connecting information to generate meaningful insights. Think of Notemaking Mastery as complementary to the all-powerful LYT Workshop, with an emphasis on refining how you connect and engage with ideas.
